The PC4uMusic configuration provides a lot of pleasure while listening to the very interesting music presented in this program, which is also transmitted in a 320 kbps stream with studio sampling standard 48 kHz and precisely encoded with Advanced Audio Coding. Great relaxation with music is ensured even by the optimal PC4uMusic setting for standard 3-way speakers with 10-inch bass and a passive crossover in which the old capacitors have not been replaced.The speakers were only matched with furniture by the Rad-Pol upholstery workshop for exhibition in the Sopot showroom.



The speakers are powered by the also relatively inexpensive Rotel RX 950 AX. The analog signal from the PC was connected directly (main in) to the power amplifier to ensure the lowest possible risk of clipping. The manufacturer provides the power in the technical specification: 2x85 W DIN (1 kHz, 4 Ohm, 1% THD). During testing, playback is of much better quality and uses less watts. The speakers are connected to the long-proven Supra cable with oxygen-free copper (2x2.5 mm).

The Polish manufacturer has introduced a new solution to the market to complement active studio monitors with a coaxial electro-acoustic transducer from the Norwegian SEAS, but it is also suitable for home use. The subwoofer in a closed-box (sealed) enclosures creates a 3-way system with the monitor, which works well with a traditional stereo. Poland seems to be a hotbed of audio equipment production at the moment — I’ve lost count of how much new gear I’ve reviewed from Poland this year! Audio Pro Solutions (APS) were established in 2006 to build loudspeakers for both the hi-fi and pro-audio markets.

The Art Of Sound Perfection is the motto of Scandinavian Electro Acoustic Systems, which dates back to the late 1920s at the Norwegian Institute of Technology and has remained in the forefront of European driver manufacturers for more than 60 years.

Acoustic suspension (air suspension, closed box, sealed box) is a method of loudspeaker cabinet design and utilisation that uses one or more loudspeaker drivers mounted in a sealed box or cabinet. Acoustic suspension systems reduce bass distortion that can be caused by stiff motor suspensions in conventional loudspeakers. Speaker cabinets with acoustic suspension can provide well-controlled bass response, especially in comparison with an equivalently-sized speaker enclosure that has a bass reflex port or vent. The bass vent boosts low-frequency output, but with the tradeoff of introducing phase delay and accuracy problems in reproducing transient signals. Sealed boxes are generally less efficient than a bass-reflex cabinet for the same low-frequency cut-off and cabinet volume, so a sealed-box speaker cabinet will need more electrical power to deliver the same amount of acoustic low-frequency bass output.

Ambiophony was once called an analog solution for quadraphonic stereophonic reproduction.

Derived (2–2–4) formats are simple and inexpensive electronic solutions that add or extract rear "ambience" or "reverberation" sound channels from stereo records i.e., studio reverb, audience applause, etc.

An interesting acoustic test for amphibious sound can be done at home with earphones and a TV soundbar. Tests with music from a Swedish radio stream were done with a laptop with the free AIMP program installed.



Windows Audio Session Application Programming Interface in AIMP provided 32bit/192kHz oversampling. The music for the test was provided by a Swedish Radio stream with 320 kbps AAC encoding and 48 kHz sampling



The test can also be done from an FM broadcast, but it will not be the same quality, and with DAB+ you have to be very careful to ensure the maximum signal from the antenna. When using an FM/DAB+ tuner, AIMP oversampling cannot be used during transmission.

It was played with the Pale Moon browser, in which AIMP was set as the default program for podcast support. This solution with an advanced motherboard performed very well in previous tests for Spotify, Tidal and Deezer music playback. It is clear that software plays an important role in audio reproduction.



The transmission, which can be played even with a smartphone, was from the town hall built at the end of the 16th century. New possibilities for Ambiophony



Playing stereo recordings from 4 speakers is also nothing new and many years ago it was called ambiophony.

(æmbɪˈɒfənɪ) - the reproduction of sound to create an illusion to a listener of being in a spacious room, such as a concert hall

Even the AIMP option for 4-speaker playback with 192 kHz/32 bit oversampling is quite old now.

Oversampling is capable of improving resolution and signal-to-noise ratio, and can be helpful in avoiding aliasing and phase distortion by relaxing anti-aliasing filter performance requirements.

It is similar with the possibility in Windows to optimally calibrate the speaker position in the room, something that users of analog solutions could never dream of.

Room correction processing optimizes the listening experience for a particular location in the room, for example, the center cushion of your couch, by automatically calculating the optimal combination of delay, frequency response, and gain adjustments.

However, what is new and not only for ambiophony is the quality of EBU recordings transmitted by radio stations.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU; French: Union européenne de radio-télévision, UER) is an alliance of public service media organisations whose countries are within the European Broadcasting Area or who are members of the Council of Europe.

It's nothing new and automatic calibration in Windows also works when music is streamed



This could be used even with the strangest version 8.1. The system driver 6.3.960.16384 for the laptop's built-in sound processor was from August 2013. Its automatic driver correctly set zero delay for the built-in speakers and corrected level differences by 0.18, as can be seen in the illustration above.



Connecting a laptop with a simple soundbar via HDMI and calibrating such a set may be a good solution for many people to listen to music from a stream. It can be assumed that of the models shown in the illustration above, the optimal solution for many people is the smaller and cheaper one. The larger one is a 3-way solution, which at this price may generate unnecessary distortions.
